November 1st marks the start of Movember. As we grow (or attempt to) moustaches to raise awareness we have setup a team online that will also collect donations to support the cause.

Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men’s health. It was started back in 2003 by a group of men in Australia to raise awareness of the increasing risks of prostate cancer and how early screening can help save lives. Since then, the Movember campaign has evolved to address some of the biggest health issues faced by men: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.

We are proud to call our own Jay Howells Muscular Dystrophy Canada Alberta branch Firefighter of the year. Jay combined with his team, sponsors and community should be very proud that this recognition has been awarded.

There will be an open house at Station 3 this Sunday May 27th from 1pm-4pm. This is a great chance to check out the inside of an Ambulance, see all the Equipment and meet some of the Firefighter/Paramedics that provide Emergency Medical Services from both Ambulances and Fire Trucks.
